Web Developer / Designer- Hybrid – Chicago or Stamford CT

Our client, a global FinTech leader, is looking for a combination Web Developer / Designer. Your creative design abilities are as crucial as your web development skills. The position could be a perfect opportunity if you are comfortable coding HTML in the Bootstrap framework and writing styles in SASS.

This is a hybrid role in Chicago or Stamford, CT (three days in the office/two days remote).

Responsibilities include:

  • Design, develop and maintain content across multiple websites and web platforms utilizing UX/UI frameworks built in HTML, SASS/CSS, JavaScript, and PHP.
  • Implement responsive website development (web page development) and optimize output across multiple devices and platforms while maintaining quality scores through Google’s SEO tools.
  • Test, debug, and optimize content for the web.
  • Creating/maintaining stylesheets across several business groups within IBKR
  • To Provide and maintain outstanding attention to detail.
  • Be self-motivated and capable of managing multiple projects.
  • Understand financial products and markets.

Qualifications:

  • Strong experience with HTML, CSS/SASS, and Javascript. Working knowledge of PHP is a plus
  • Knowledge of Bootstrap, FontAwesome, and jQuery is a must.
  • Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) degree in Visual Communications Design, or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, or a similar relevant field (desired, not mandatory)
  • 4+ years of experience in a similar role or in total covering the requirements
  • Knowledge of Google’s Search engine Optimization (SEO) principles
  • Proficient in graphic software from Adobe Creative Cloud (MUST)
  • Knowledge of browser troubleshooting and debugging practices and techniques
  • Functional across operating systems a plus: Mac OSX, Microsoft Windows, and Linux.
  • Strong portfolio of relevant work showcasing both development design skills.
