Senior Director of Demand Generation – Hybrid Boston

SENIOR DIRECTOR DEMAND GENERATION

Our client is a technology leader empowering organizations to continuously secure their web applications and APIs through all stages of the software development lifecycle for over 15 years. We are seeking a Sr. Director Demand Generation to help accelerate substantial inbound pipeline generation motion, drive efficiency, and increase yield from outbound marketing efforts. This is an ideal role for someone who loves optimizing funnels, focusing on core growth levers, and finding new opportunities to scale and optimize programs. You will report to the VP of Marketing and work closely with peers across channel marketing, communications, product marketing, sales, and customer success to drive growth.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead a team of 10+, consisting of performance marketing (web, product, marketing operations, paid digital), demand generation (events, sponsorships, etc.), and inbound SDRs. You’ll coach, mentor and rally the troops around the biggest opportunities
  • Own the delivery of the inbound pipeline numbers and align with sales and customer success leaders to help hit our outbound and expansion targets. Rigorously audit the full funnel, provide data-driven insights, and make adjustments swiftly to drive the business
  • Balance growth and efficiency by finding and executing opportunities in areas like conversion rate, marketing mix, lead routing, targeting, and time allocation. Maintain or improve net new pipeline to marketing spend ratios with an eye on close rates and payback periods, ensuring strong feedback loop with sales
  • Work cross-functionally and utilize data to focus the team on the right initiatives in the right order. Maintain a strong connection between brand and demand and a consistent experience across the customer journey
  • Manage a $5M+ budget. Allocate, track, and generate the highest return from a healthy marketing budget spanning digital, events, marketing technology, contractors, and agencies
  • Present strategic priorities and performance. Articulate key initiatives and present performance reviews to leadership, including financials, test results, forecasts, and metrics. Hold yourself and your team accountable to results

 

MUST HAVE

  • 7+ years in leading a demand generation team at a growing SaaS company or equivalent experience and ownership of a $5M+ Demand Generation budget
  • Strong command of inbound marketing, driving at least 40% of the total pipeline
  • Experience managing BDR/SDRs and marketing teams >10 individuals
  • Solid understanding of B2B marketing across all functions, for example, lead and demand generation, revenue and performance marketing, global marketing, product marketing, and event marketing
  • Detailed understanding and application of marketing data analytics and performance metrics
  • Experience working collaboratively with sales to meet business goals, including experience with sales enablement tools and techniques
  • Experience with project management methodologies and tools such as Marketo, Outreach, Demandbase, Salesforce, Asana, and A/B testing tools
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Hybrid/Remote – must travel to Boston HQ a few times per month

 

NICE TO HAVE

  • Experience in Cybersecurity is a plus
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or related field, or any equivalent combination of experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities

 

COMPENSATION

  • Up to $175,000 base + bonus and equity
