Principal User Researcher – Remote

Our Client, a leading global communications consultant who helps companies craft their messaging and brand identity is looking for a Principal User Researcher to conduct research, lead projects, and act as a client facing-account manager.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with client stakeholders and researchers on the team to scope projects, determine the best methodology and approach, provide work estimates, timelines, proposals, and conduct remote and client-facing presentations
  • Manage, foster, and grow the assigned account, including providing strategic guidance, managing the yearly research calendar, overseeing the growth, optimization, and health of the participant database, and exceeding overall client expectations for the work you, and the team, produce for the client
  • Develop and manage an ongoing list of research needs for the assigned client, and proactively identify research opportunities and participant recruiting and database improvement opportunities
  • Oversee client/project budgets and overall financials
  • Lead research studies (mostly, but not exclusively, qualitative) with hands-on experience using a variety of methodologies such as usability testing, iterative testing, workflow research, persona research, IDIs, customer journey maps, JTBD, and more
  • Exceed client expectations by delivering, or ensuring project teams deliver, high-quality deliverables on time and on budget
  • Act as an SME in regard to the research and UX/CX discipline, and be able to clearly provide education throughout the organization and externally to prospects and clients on market research, user research, CX & UX

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of leading and delivering client-side or agency research engagements; 2+ years in an account management type of role
  • Bachelor’s degree in the area of Market Research, User Research, User Experience, HCI, Psychology, or similar; Master’s degree preferred
  • Prior experience managing project reporting and financials
  • Prior experience conducting international, remote, and B2B research
  • Experience with, or interest in, the natural sciences in any setting and/or experience or education in Chemistry or Biology a plus
  • Extensive knowledge of research, UX, and CX methodologies, and approaches
  • Advanced ability to interface directly with clients and present solutions, proposals, and strategies, based on demonstrated expertise and market knowledge
  • Prior agency or consulting experience strongly preferred
