Full Stack Engineer- Tech Lead (Hybrid)

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced and passionate Full Stack Engineer to take the lead role on our client’s development team. The MVP was built by a strong external development agency, and they are looking for the right person to lead the internal team and take the platform to the next level. This individual will be key to scaling their technology to execute against their roadmap, focus on engineering excellence, and meet the demands of their rapidly growing user base.

Location: Hybrid – NYC. Preference for New York City Area

Responsibilities

Take full ownership of the existing codebase and provide insights for improvements and scalability
Develop, test, and deploy new features and improvements on the platform
Collaborate with the founders to ensure the product meets market demands and user needs
Manage AWS infrastructure and ensure optimal performance and reliability
Troubleshoot and fix issues, ensuring timely resolution and minimal downtime
Monitor application performance using Sentry and address potential bottlenecks
Stay up-to-date with industry best practices and integrate them wherever beneficial

Required Skills & Qualifications

2-5 years of full-stack development experience
Strong proficiency in Python (back-end)
Experience with front-end development using JavaScript/TypeScript within a modern framework like React
Knowledge of AWS cloud services and serverless/hosted infrastructure management
Familiarity with Sentry or similar monitoring tools
Solid understanding of databases and data modeling/design techniques (particularly relational)
Focus on engineering excellence (testing, monitoring, SLOs, etc)
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Strong communication and collaboration skills
Ability to provide critical thinking and problem-solving input
Experience in an Agile development environment

Nice to Have

Background or interest in marketplaces, agtech, supply chain tech, or international fintech
Experience with SaaS product development
New York City Area-local

Compensation:

$140,000 (negotiable based on experience)
